Rusty Lock (2)

Canon EOS 550D, 18-55mm lens, ISO 100, Aperture priority set at f22, 3 exposures.

1st January 2011
This is a follow on from yesterdays post, it is a closer view of the rusted metal lock, it isn't a very good shot but it does show what happens to metal when it has been left for many years exposed to the weather, it would be great if anyone should happen to view the previous 5 posts and possibly have some more information of the history of this old metal constructed workshop like when it was built what it was used for etc. It can be found near Stepps in North Lanarkshire, Scotland at the side of  the A80 on Cumbernauld Road. If anyone does have any information make a comment or drop me an email at ml6@live.co.uk.

Rusty Lock

Canon EOS 550D, 18-55mm lens, ISO 100, Aperture priority set at f22, 3 exposures.

1st January 2011
While exploring an old metal framed workshop i was attracted to this large rusty metal door which hadn't been opened in many years and was in a locked position, i like the charred wooden beam.

Discarded Irn Bru Can

Canon EOS 550D, 18-55mm lens, ISO 100, Aperture priority set at f22, 3 exposures.

1st January 2011
I took this shot of the floor of an old workshop which has never been used for a very long time, you can go any where in Scotland and you will always find a discarded crumpled up empty can of Irn Bru, i decided to desaturated the image and retain the colour of the can to add a bit of interest this was achieved by using Picasa, i first of all generated my HDR image using Photomatix Pro 4.

St Vincent Lane, Glasgow

Canon EOS 550D, 18-55mm lens, ISO 100, Aperture priority set at f22, 3 exposures.

3rd January 2011
This lane was pointed out to me by my daughters boyfriend Raymond, he said he thought it would possibly look good in a photograph due to the high walls and the more modern building at the end of the lane.
The lane is called St Vincent Lane which is in Glasgow, i plan on taking more shots of other lanes in Glasgow this year and also in Edinburgh. I generated an HDR using Photomatix Pro 4 and edited further using Picasa.

New Life Coming Up

Canon EOS 550D, 18-55mm lens, ISO 100, Aperture priority set at f22, 3 exposures.

1st January 2011
I was drawn to this scene by the rusty hasp and the rusty lines that bled from it on the left which had been created over the years of non use, then i noticed the green leaves of new life coming up from the bottom of the door which has stretched up and wrapped itself around the hasp in an effort to possibly open this door.

Metal Workshop

Canon EOS 550D, 18-55mm lens, ISO 100, Aperture priority set at f22, 3 exposures.

1st January 2011
This is my first photograph of 2011 i took it today the 1st January 2011.
I went out for a drive and found this old abandoned metal workshop at the side of the A80 Cumbernauld Road near Stepps in North Lanarkshire, i took three exposures at +/- 2 stops, i generated an HDR using Photomatix Pro 4 and edited further using Picasa.
