The Eye of Iggy the Iguana

I took this photograph on the 29th April 2011. I took this close up of Iggy's eye.
I used my Canon EOS 550D with my 18 - 55mm lens set on macro mode.
I took this photograph in the back garden, my Fiance's daughter works with different animals for a petting zoo and hence the reason why this was taken in the garden

Robins visit the back garden all year round so i set about trying to get some photographs this weekend, i managed to get one shot and this was it, i got it on the1st May 2011. I set my camera on my tripod which was close to where i had a fat ball holder that i was using to hopefully attract some bird life, i attached my wireless remote shutter release to my camera and sat back from a distance with a coffee and patiently waited and waited and waited i had a lot of coffee's and my patience paid off. I had to crop my original shot to get this image.

Major Archibald Douglas Monteath Mausoleum

I visited the Glasgow Necropolis on Saturday the 9th April 2011 for the first time and i found this Mausoleum to be the most impressive one there. I set my Canon EOS 550D on my tripod and took 3 exposures of +2, 0 and -2 steps, AV set at f16, ISO at 100. I generated an HDR using Photomatix Pro 4 and i edited further using Photoshop.
This Mausoleum was designed by David Cousin in 1842.
Monteath served in the East India Company. Allegedly, Monteath made his fortune when an elephant carrying precious gems belonging to a Maharajah was captured and ‘relieved’ of its load by him. When he died £1,000 was left to build his monument. There was a shortfall, however the Merchants’ House gifted the extra land needed and this spectacular mausoleum was built.
Based on the Knights Templar Church of the Holy Sepulchre, experts dispute whether it is modelled on the Jerusalem Church or possibly their Cambridge Church. This 30 ft diameter Neo-Norman rotunda has grotesque faces around the doorway and each niched window has a different design. In 1850 Monteath’s brother, James Douglas Monteath of Rosehall and Stonebyres was also interred here.
